Dear Tando,
You make my life better. Your app makes it easier for me to transact using my BTC within the Kenyan economy. Because I enjoy the app so much, I have some thoughts on what could be better. I expect that other customers may agree with me, but you probably ought to ask for their feedback too. Here’s what I think.
It would be great if the sender of funds in a P2P transaction received a message indicating who the sender of the funds is. It is helpful to know who the sender of funds is: think of instances where someone receives money from “SPXXXE XXX KENYA LTD” in multiple transactions - how will someone know what is from who? Now, because it may not be feasible to explicitly identify the sender since the funds are drawn from a lightning wallet, a message to the sender indicating the name and contact number of the recipient, how much they have received, and the time of the transaction would suffice. The sender can then forward the message to the recipient as confirmation that they indeed are the sender of funds. The same logic can apply for uses of the “Pay Bills” or “Buy Goods” options on the app. A message to the sender indicating that paybill number 123456 and account number QWERTY789 has been sent a specific amount for the Pay Bills option, and a message to the sender indicating that a specific amount has been sent to account ACBDEF.
Note that I say a message. Yes, it could be an in-app message that can then be shared via SMS or WhatsApp or any of the sharing options that the users’ device may enable. An in-app message would probably be easier to deploy and is likely more efficient in speed and cost than an SMS text message, but I leave this to you.
It may be a small or incremental tweak to the UX but I think it would enhance the experience - at least for me!
